Resistance is futile

NeoX™ Platform

NeoX™ is a class of small molecules called universal antimicrobial resistance breakers (uARBs).

The molecules switch bacteria from a resistant to a sensitive state by rerouting the metabolic pathways that fuel resistance mechanisms.

When resistance is switched off, existing antimicrobials work again. Overuse drops. Pollution diminishes. The problem shrinks from both ends.

NeoX™ reroutes the metabolic pathway that fuels resistance mechanisms.

Universal resistance breaking

NeoX™ has lab effectiveness across the spectrum of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) mechanisms and antimicrobial drug classes, including carbapenems, cephalosporins, quinolones, glycopeptides, penicillins and surface hygiene treatments.

From "untreatable" to "treatable"

A superior, non-corrosive solution to recalcitrant biofilm fouling.

Why is universal resistance breaking important?

It reduces the diagnostic burden, and the delay and cost of treatment. This will allow clinicians to use whichever type-appropriate antibiotic is at hand.

It doesn't trigger evolutionary pressure by itself, acting only as a bacterial switch from resistant to non-resistant. Not a biocide, not an antibiotic.

If successful in our next clinical trials, the world stands to gain a scalable, upstream control point that addresses AMR at its core, and which is aligned with global Access, regulatory and stewardship priorities. Beyond healthcare, NeoX™ molecules are applicable across marine, industrial, consumer products and agricultural systems.

The Evidence

High tolerability

Inhaled NeoX-101 was found to be safe and very well tolerated in Phase 1 clinical trials at all doses tested. Lab data confirms the same for oral and IV formulations.

For patients who are already seriously ill, comfort and tolerability are not compromised by our solution.

One size fits most

100–10,000x enhanced kill effect against multidrug-resistant bacteria, including E. coli, K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA). Greater than 90% reduction in biofilm mass of priority pathogens. NeoX™ works across infection types, environments, formulations, delivery routes, and clinical settings.

Because equitable access means the solution has to fit the patient, not the other way around.

AMR prevention

Every time antibiotics are used, there is a chance that resistant or biofilm bacteria are left behind. Our Lab demonstrated that there was no resistance development to NeoX™ itself, even after 30 days exposure. And more excitingly, we could stop antibiotic-driven resistance and biofilm formation in bacteria when exposed to antibiotics for longer periods.

This is what will stop AMR.

Triple action

Sepsis, septic shock, gut inflammation and biofilm studies showed that NeoX™ ensured antibiotics worked immediately, regardless of biofilms or resistance, and protected against septic shock inflammation. This is relevant for complex infections, such as hospital acquired infections, recurring infections, and sepsis.

NeoX™ has an optimal profile to be used alongside antibiotics in many different infections.
